WHAT ARE THE STARTING DATES FOR THE UCR UNIVERSITY EXTENSION CANNABIS PROGRAMS?
All programs will commence on the following dates:
    WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE?

    We recommend registering prior to the start date of the course. However, students may register until Friday morning, after the start date. To register past that date, please contact us to see if we can accommodate your request. 

    ARE UCR UNIVERSITY EXTENSION'S CANNABIS PROGRAMS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS TO WORK AT THEIR OWN PACE?

    Yes, but with some structure. New course material is made available weekly for the duration of each program. Student study is primarily asynchronous (i.e. you may study at a time suitable for yourself). Students are required to pass online tests to progress through the program. You may “catch up” at your own speed, however you cannot progress through the course faster than the weekly release of new content.

    HOW LONG DOES THE PROGRAM TAKE TO COMPLETE?

    Each Specialized Study Program consists of three eight-week courses. The courses take approximately six months in total to complete.

    WHAT TYPE OF QUALIFICATION IS ASSOCIATED WITH UCR UNIVERSITY EXTENSION’S FOR-CREDIT SPECIALIZED STUDY CANNABIS PROGRAMS?

    Students who successfully complete each program will receive a certificate of completion award from University of California, Riverside University Extension.

    Additionally, you’ll gain access to the GF Institute Employer Network, which includes access to a digital badge to display your credential, as well as membership to the GF Institute, the professional organization dedicated to promoting the highest standards of professionalism, credibility, and equity in the cannabis industry. 

    ARE SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL AID AVAILABLE FOR UCR UNIVERSITY EXTENSION'S CANNABIS PROGRAMS?

    While federal financial aid is not available for these programs, we strive to offer flexible payment options for all students. Upon registration, you’ll receive these options:

    • Pay in full: Pay the full amount of the cannabis program when you register.
    • Installment Option: Break out your payments into six installments throughout the six-months it takes to complete. The first installment is due upon registration.
    WHO IS GREEN FLOWER MEDIA?

    University of California, Riverside Extension has partnered with cannabis education platform Green Flower Media to produce credible cannabis educational content. Green Flower’s content curriculum features trusted information and perspectives from industry-leading cannabis professionals, delivered in a format designed using best-in-class learning practices.

    WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I REGISTER?

    You’ll be automatically enrolled in the introductory course module with fellow learners. There you can begin familiarizing yourself with the learning management system and begin interacting with classmates.

    AS A STUDENT, HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I EXPECT TO COMMIT EACH WEEK?

    Students should expect to dedicate 6-8 hours per week to adequately interact and complete coursework in the programs.
